Hi Anna,

It's very common that women will have quite irregular periods before they finally have the last one.  You would really need to do a series of FSH tests to say for sure that you are menopausal.  Your hormones vary widely day to day and even within the same day, so just one test can be very misleading.  I've had many patients go for months and even a year and then have a few more periods.  Your other symptoms are also indicative of hormone change and imbalance.  I would recommend you find a provider who is knowledgeable about menopause (you cannot assume every doctor--even every GYN--is) and who is supportive of hormone therapy to help manage your symptoms.  Good luck,

Sandy

I just joined the group but I am in the menopause stages and have been for a very long time.lol  I can tell you that going for 5 mths and then getting your cycle again

is about right.   I have gone 6 mths or longer never got to the 12 mths.

I can tell you what has helped me I use natural healthy supplements dealing with

my menopause and it has made all the difference in my life.  I feel great and this

menopause is not making my life crazy anymore.  I use a progestrone cream and

take other herbs, natural supplements, diet, exercise. I am 50 dealing with it

and to the best of my recollection I started getting symptons back in 97.  You know

they got about 35 symptons associated with this perimenopause/menopause.

Let me know if I can be of any help to you.

Warm Regards,
