Need Daily Naps

Sandy

I am on the Vivelle Dot .05 ...

I have been working as a Hostess at a local resturant, 3 days for 3 hours; I just can't function like I use to.  My vision is giving me problems again, dizzy and I just do not have the energy level I use to..

Always feeling light headed, speech impairment, memory and concentration difficulty.

Last fall, the gyn doc had me on dexamethasone for high Adrenial Gland. The medication really affected my night sleep in a very bad way; and continued when reducing the daily dose(3 times cut the daily dose down).

I just can't seem to get my life back or this new life together comfortably.

I don't think the doctors I have been seeing for years are focusing-helping.

Do you have any recommendations for a Minnesota doctor to help.

Hi Linda,

Well, depending on where you live in MN, you might want to come to The Menopause Center in St. Paul.  We see women from all over the state.  See my home page for contact info.

Otherwise, though I can't give specific provider's names here, it sounds like you need to call a compounding pharmacy in your area and ask who prescribes bioidentical hormones.  Those who do tend to be the ones who are most knowledgeable about hormones and perimenopause/menopause.  Unfortunately, I have found few endocrinologists who even want to get into hormones.  Check with friends as well...one may have a good referral for you.

Also, you say you're on Vivelle dot but don't mention progesterone.  If you're not on progesterone as well (or even if you are and it's not the right one) hormone imbalance could be a key to why you're having so many symptoms.

I hope you'll be persistent in getting the help you need.  It's out there, just not always easy to find.

Best of luck,

Sandy

Watch this video about menopause and menstruation, a normal, natural shedding process of the uterine lining that occurs monthly in all healthy adult women after puberty.
