im not quite sure but i think i may be strarting menopause! my periods are real heavy

and have a slight oder! and the pain hurts worse now then ever before! im 43yrs. i had my tubes tied when i was 22! i have had cysts removed in my late 20s! and the blood is very dark red and big clots and they hurt when they pass!

Hi Sheila,

Consistently heavy periods are not necessarily a sign of menopause. While you could be perimenopausal--the time before you actualy go into menopause, when periods usually start and stop again and then start and stop again--with your history of cysts plus the unusual odor, I'd see a medical professional.
