Hi Sheila, Consistently heavy periods are not necessarily a sign of menopause. While you could be perimenopausal--the time before you actualy go into menopause, when periods usually start and stop again and then start and stop again--with your history of cysts plus the unusual odor, I'd see a medical professional.
