HRT May Reduce Colon Cancer Risk

According to a new study, postmenopausal women who use hormone replacement therapy (HRT) have less of a chance of developing colon cancer. Researchers looked at data on 57,000 California women and found that those who used HRT were 36 percent less likely to develop this type of cancer over the next decade than women who didn't use HRT. But scientists say their finding is not a recommendation for women to start taking HRT to reduce their colon cancer risk, since the therapy has been linked to other health problems.
