TRY TOPAMAX
Mary Brown
Sunday, November 09, 2008 at 11:56 PMI have been on Topamax for almost 3 weeks and doing well. I was sent to a neurologist and he told me the zomeg I was taking almost daily was causing my migraines. I am taking a 50 mg tablet 2 times a day. Having to deal with some side affects but I can deal with those over the migraines. Warning...you will be dizzy and off balance so dont climb any ladders. I climbed up my attic ladder to get my winter clothes down and when I came down lost my balance and fell about 5 to 6 ft and now having to recover from that... I pray I stay headache free. For those who have never had a migraine, count your blessings, for those of you who have them, ask your dr. about Topamax. I have had migraines for about 25 years and have always blamed them on hormones and no doctor would ever act like there was anything they could do for me except give me zomeg until now. I am having some memory problems and I hope that improves over time. Good luck to all. Mary in TENNESSEE

since you are seeing a reduction in your attacks something is working, and that is very good news.
Weather can really play havoc with our heads. That doesn't mean our preventive medications have stopped working. Have you seen this information on Tips for Avoiding Summer Migraine and Headaches?
Another thing you may want to consider if your Migraines begin to increase again, is that your medication may need to be adjusted. It is not uncommon to increase/decrease dosages after we see how our bodies react certain medications. Our information on topamax dosing can be found HERE.
