having been on topamax for about 5 weeks now ( and seen a reduction in the number of migraines i was haveing) i thought i was doing good. right at 5 weeks since my last BAD one. ( the day i got the topamax as a matter of fact) and 7 weeks since i had to go to the ER. then at 3 am while on my lunch break it hit!!! now here we are 5 hours later, and i would really like to curl up in the corner and cry.
all because i dared use a little bit of baby lotion on my hands.............. or maybe it was the thunderstorm. i don't know which........... but somebody please tell my meds to kick in soon. i don't know how much more i can stand.

since you are seeing a reduction in your attacks something is working, and that is very good news.
Weather can really play havoc with our heads. That doesn't mean our preventive medications have stopped working. Have you seen this information on Tips for Avoiding Summer Migraine and Headaches?
Another thing you may want to consider if your Migraines begin to increase again, is that your medication may need to be adjusted. It is not uncommon to increase/decrease dosages after we see how our bodies react certain medications. Our information on topamax dosing can be found HERE.
i finally gave in around 9 tonight.............. the vomiting got too bad so i had to go get something. the ER doc was really pleased that i have been doing so well. he told me to keep up the good work, and to contine with my diary ( it's very detailed) gave me something to make me feel better ( god i love this doctor) and sent me home. all told i was in and out in about 45 minutes.
my boss wasn't even mad when i called in ( told me she was expecting it.... when i left this morning i was in PAIN) and told me to get some rest and she would see me tommorrow night. and if i needed anything to call and she would stop it by to me on her way home!
