thanks to the holiday, my regular doctor isn't in his office until monday. so my hasband took me to the Er because my head just wouldn't let up. since another doctors office is covering for my doctor the ER sent me over there.

now this doctor is a really good man, and he was my regular doctor for a good number of years ( my regular doc was in his practice at one point in time) but do to what another doctor in his practice did when my grandmother died, i no longer see him.

we get in the office and i try to fill out the paperwork ( thankfully my brother in law was there and he helped me) by the time i was done, my husband was back fom running home to get the checkbook so i could pay. few minutes later the nurse calls us back, and then i have to give a complete medical history. ummmm hello...... i can barely hold my head up and all she's worried about was how my dad died........ and I had to answer... not my husband.

they finally get me in a room, and the sadist nurse leaves the light on, and the door wide open. another of the nurses ( i went to school with her son) came by and turned off the light and pushed the door to, leaving it craked so she could keep an eye on me. finally doctor j comes in and starts the 20 questioins.... how long has my head hurt..... how often do i get the migraines... am i having nausea..... after all of this ( and he has my chart in his hand, couldn't he look at the sheet where i had given these same answers to sadist nurse) he asks what they give me for pain. i told him nubain, toradol, and phenegrin. i was informed that they don't use nubain in his office, that it would be demerol or nothing.

now yes demerol helps me in the short term, but the morning after is a different story. i have better luck at the liquor store, and have never felt as bad after a drunk as i do with demerol. good doctor also gave me vikodin, and phenegrin suppository for today.

the nurse ( the nice one) comes in and gives me my shot. ( no toradol today folks) and told my husband that if i was no better in 2 hours to take me over to the ER and let the doctor there give me toradol.

nubain by itself doesn't help me for very long, hence WHY they give me toradol.

so i go get my pain meds filled and go home to bed. this was about 5 yesterday..... at 2 am i back up, in pain and sick as a dog. bless my husband he sat up with me all night, even giving my the suppository so i can hopefully keep the pain pill down.

while i get that yes they gave me something for pain, do they not grasp that it makes me sicker than i was when i went to the doctor??? and that it makes me rebound really really bad.
