mybe a different doctor can help

well my PCP has finally had enough and is sending me to a neurologist. he is fighting mad that the one abortive i could use that worked is no longer covered by my insurance,

and the prevenatives aren't helping. so as he said it's time to call in the experts.

i'm sitting here now with the pounding in my head.... wishing i could puke, and praying that sleep will come. or 1:30 when the doctors office reopens after lunch so i can get some help.

I wonder why he won't send you to see a Migraine specialist? It's important to note that neurologists aren't necessarily Migraine and headache specialists. Take a look at the article Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you need help finding a Migraine specialist, check our listing of Patient Recommended Migraine and Headache Specialists.

Good luck and I hope you are feeling better very soon.

because the closest one to us is almost 5 hours away......... and i have no way to get there.... anything over an hour and a half is not going to happen, and it also isn't covered by my insurance ( we are having a heck of a time getting them to cover the neurologist as it is)

my insuance also will no longer cover my treximet or stadol. leaving me with only the fiericet, and since switching to the generic topamax, i have seen more headaches than ever before.you gotta love fighting for basic medical care.

but from what i can understand about this doctor ( i know 2 of his nurses) he is very good, and will not give up. his solution is not just to poke me full of meds, but to try to find out why i am getting them, and to stop them.... not just treat the pain. so i am willing to see how it goes.
