Is this a migraine?

By tamara Sunday, January 18, 2009

HI

I am very concerned. For the last week , i have been having 2-4 'mini headaches' daily, lasting for around 15 mins each.

These headaches always occur on my left side of the face concentrating behind the left eye. After 15 mins or so, the head aches go and i am able to function again. The pain is very debilitating and it has often woken me from a deep sleep. While its in progress, my vision remain normal with no dizzines or blurred vision.I have sometimes felt a little nausious but never actually been sick.

I have no symptoms of a cold so i am sure its not a sinus headache but i worry at the frequency of these episodes.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

There is a type of headache called Cluseter Headache you may want to discuss with your doctor. These headaches typically start in people between the ages of 20 - 40. They have been called "suicide headaches," feeling for some like a "hot poker in the eye." Cluster headaches can occur anywhere from once a day to eight times a day or more. We have more information on this headace you can read here: Cluster Headaches - The Basics
