You know the answer to this.

Saturday, August 02, 2008 at 03:29 PMYou know the answer to this but wont admit it. Nobody on this site will admit it.
All of you need to go to wokr, take care of your familys, get out and do things. Headaches are just emotions and thoughts made physical. Develop a positive attitude and get on with your life. You won't get better until you let yourself move on from this place of pain.
Go read You Can Heal Your Life by Louise Hay. Get laid. So called migraines are caused by fears about sex. Get over them. Enjoy sex and quit having headaches.
Not jus being a bitch here either. I used to have migraines and headaches all the time until I got real with myslef.

Sunday, August 03, 2008 at 08:36 AMYou're right. A positive attitude is all I need to cure a GENETIC NEUROLOGICAL DISORDER. Why don't people with Multiple Sclerosis and Epilepsy just think happy thoughts? They'd be cured too!!!
Wow, you're such a genius. You should get a Nobel Prize in medicine for CURING migraine headaches.
You probably think the fact I'm clinically depressed is my fault too; that it has nothing to do with the inability of my brain to produce an adequate amount of seratonin, norepenephrine, and dopamine.
I have no patience for your ignorance.
Also, please refer to the article "What Causes Migraines" in the August issue of Scientific American. As a reputable publication, they do not tend to devote pages of thier magazine to "non-existant" diseases that can be fixed with an attitude adjustment.

Wednesday, August 06, 2008 at 08:41 PMHi Katinthecorner. Wow you have my sympathy. I got onto your sharepost because like you my six year old son has severe ongoing migraine. He has now had one month of continuous migraine activity and like you has just got weaker and weaker. He has been monitored by the dr and just had another extensive round of testing for which we are waiting on results.
"You know the answer to this" made me laugh out loud. I am a huge fan of positive thinking and think the Lousie Hay book "You can heal your life" is wonderful but i cant see me recommending to my six year old go out and "get laid".
One of the drs recommendations was to ignore the symptoms, not make a fuss and just get on with things. The result of this has been the full on continuous migraine he is having now. I suppose you have to give everything a go in the hope that it will help.
Hope you get some relief somewhere.

you're not alone
jst
Sunday, August 10, 2008 at 07:07 PMOur family became very exasperated when our 16 year old daughter's episodic migraine became chronic daily headache due to over medication of which our ped neurologist was fully aware (and did nothing to help us). My daughter missed 3 months of school because of poor medical care for her migraines. Maybe you can find some comfort in that you are not totally alone. It is EXTREMELY difficult to stay "positive", deal with multiple health care professionals, stay on top of insurance & charges, deal with horrible pain, and try to figure out if you need to start with a new doctor &/or treatment regimen. Oh right! - also, do the laundry, go to the grocery, etc....... I say whine as much as you need to! You need to let those emotions out! If you have a friend who has even an occasional migraine, talk with them, because only a migraineur can really understand, and I'll bet they'll be empathetic/sympathetic. The more friends, teachers, co workers I whined to , the more folks I found who also suffered. Somehow, for me it made managing things a little easier. That and take one moment at a time. You have my sympathy, hope you get some help soon.

I haven't been on this site in some time. Didn't know it was still going so I will not be updated to your program. I was wondering are you seeing a Doctor at this time? Also, have you been to a walk in clinic or ER this month? The reason for asking about the Clinic or ER is when I now go through bad spells that may hang on for days I need to go for some refueling which is what I call it when I get the stuff that I can't get at the pharmacy. I seldom go but when I do it does seem to knock the type of pain that I normally have.
Another thing that I do is take a couple of "Bayer-Plus" asperin with some "Benedryl" that is in the pink box only. I then go to the sink and turn on the cold water and let it run through all this procedure. I take a wash cloth and hold it open over both hands(palms). I fill my hands up with the cold water and then hold that up to my face. I will repeat that procedure holding the coldwater in different places over my face and back of neck. I do this for some time and then I can either put the cold washcloth and leave it on my forehead or an iced cloth while lying down.
I take Imitrex injections which helps too. I didn't know if you had any abortives that you use.
Anyway, that is one of my main routines. You may have already tried something like that but just wanted to pass along a suggestion that helps me.
I wish
you well. Take care, Marlene
