Dr. Mark Hyman on Migraines in the Huffington Post

By Teri Robert, Health Guide Saturday, February 06, 2010
This morning, a Google alert that I received in my email led me to the Huffington Post site to read a brow-raising article on Migraines by Dr. Mark Hyman. The article is entitled, "How To Eliminate Migraines and Headaches In Less Than A Week." You probably already know just by reading the tit...
Migraine Term of the Day: Receptor

It is pretty annoying that he insists that it's so easy to find causes and then to treat headaches with success. I've got too many triggers too even begin listing them - which means that it's far more complicated than what he is implying.

Really, the part that irritates me the most is when he says that migraine sufferers are a burden on society. Thanks buddy

Annoying. Yep. That's a good word. I can think of a few others, but can't say them here.Surprised

Great - all I need is for someone that knows me to read this and pass it on to me and/or actually believe what this nutball says!!! I have lots of friends that really mean well and are always forwarding me anything and everything they read on migraine and wanting to know if I have tried it or not. I really appreciate it, but not when it is something like this. An article like this could really set back all of the progress many of us have made explaining our disease to others. He didn't mention anything about weather-triggered migraines, which a lot of mine are. I have eliminated SO MANY foods from my diet that I sometimes don't even want to bother eating. I have tried many supplements. For him to write an article stating that there is any easy fix to migraines really ticks me off!!

Teri, thanks for sharing. I am still reading through the comments, haven't decided if I will post anything or not?

Sherry,

I hear you! That was a point I made in the comment I posted to the article. He left out LOTS of things. Kinda makes you wonder if he wrote the article to promote hiis web site and books.

You're welcome, Sherry. You should comment if you feel moved to do so.

with a hug,

Teri

Kind of "hey, look at me, see what I sell" sort of thing.....

However, I did manage to thank Teri for her tireless work advocating for Migraineurs, and debunking the main points of that article, and countless others, and providing ACCURATE medical information.Innocent
