Migraines and Essential Stroke Awareness

By Teri Robert, Health Guide Thursday, May 13, 2010

We've discussed the link between Migraines and stroke several times. Research has shown that people with Migraine disease, especially Migraine with aura, are at increased risk of stroke.

May is National Stroke Awareness Month, and an excellent time for us to take a look at stroke, the warning signs, the treatments, and stroke prevention. To help understand stroke better, we have a new article: Stroke - The Basics.

The National Stroke Association has made some marvelous materials available for Stroke Awareness Month, full of information we all need to have. You can find that in Stroke Awareness: Essential for Migraineurs.

I hope you'll take the time to read these two articles. Although the increased risk of stroke associated with Migraine disease isn't reason for panic, it is reason to learn about stroke, stroke and Migraine, and reducing our modifiable stroke risk factors. Let's learn all we can so we can live well, with fewer risks.

Live well,
