Migraine with aura and stroke seem related in this story. What about aura with no migraine and stroke risk?
Chuck
Hi, Chuck,
We have several articles about Migraine and stroke risk because there have been som many studies in the last few years. In the study reported on in the article linked in this post, note this statement:
"The association of ischemic stroke and migraine with aura was stronger than the association of ischemic stroke and migraine without aura."
There is increased risk with both Migraine with and without aura, but the risk is higher with MIgraine with aura.

I hope this answers your question adequately. If not, please let me know.

Thanks for the reply. My concern is that I have aura approximately once a month, but no headache with it. Lucky me. As a child I did have both, but not for many years now. Is there any association found of just having only aura and a relation to a stroke risk?
Regards, Chuck
Chuck,
Even without the headache, a Migraine aura means you're having a Migraine attack. Take a look at Acephalgic or Silent Migraine - The Basics. So, yes, this does tie into the information about Mgraine and stroke risk.
