New Migraine and Headache Information from AHS Conference
It's that time of year again — that time when I have the pleasure of learning more about Migraine and other headache disorders at the American Headache Society's Scottsdale Symposium.
An extra pleasure of this conference is November in Arizona. It's glorious! This photo was taken from the patio outside my hotel room. I love hummingbirds, and there's an abundance of them at the Camelback Inn, where the conference is held. Photographing them, however, isn't easy, so I was thrilled to get this shot!
I'm delighted to tell you that it was a great conference, full of fascinating information that I'll be sharing with you over the coming weeks. Here are some of the topics I'll be writing on for you:
- Migraine pathophysiology
- Episodic Migraine to Chronic Migraine
- The Pathophysiology and Treatment of Chronic Migraine
- Post-Traumatic Headache
- Oral Contraceptives and Migraine
- Genetics and Migraine
- Trigeminal Autonomic Cephalalgias - Cluster Headache, etc.
- Complementary and Alternative Treatment
- Medication Safety During Pregnancy and Lactation
Did the last topic catch your attention? This was the first time that the American Headache Society offered continuing medical education on the topic of advocacy, and I was honored to be one of the two presenters of session. I wanted to share this bit of information with you because it demonstrates the interest these doctors have in their patients.
I'm looking forward to sharing this information with you!
