2013 Holiday Gift to the Online Migraine and Headache Community
Before I ease up on my online hours for a few days, I want to take this opportunity to wish each and every member of our Migraine and headache community, the best of everything for the holidays.
Whatever holidays you may be celebrating, I wish you happiness, joy, and as much Migraine-free and headache-free time as possible. You've all become an extended online family to me, and you're all in my thoughts. Hopefully, you'll be able to set aside worried and problems for at least a while.
At this time of year, I always wonder what gift I can give our community, and the best gift I can think of is to make donations to nonprofit organizations that help Migraine and headache patients. This year, I've made donations in honor of the online community to:
The 36 Million Migraine Campaign is a national public mobilization and education campaign to increase our nation’s research investment in Migraine and raise public visibility for this enormously disabling disorder that affects more than 36 million Americans
-Migraine is the 3rd most common disorder in the world
-Migraine is the 7th highest cause of disability in the world
The American Headache and Migraine Association exists to E.A.S.E. the burden of Migraine and other Headache disorders through Education, Awareness, Support, and Engagement. The AHMA is a nonprofit organization for patients, family, friends, and others concerned about patients and interested in Migraines, cluster headaches, and other headache disorders. It is patient-focused and run by patients.
Donations to these two organizations will directly benefit our community, which is my goal for these gifts. As we near the end of 2013, you're in my thoughts and Ellen's. We both wish you the best for the holidays!
Make a difference... Donate to the 36 Million Migraine Campaign!
