  • Do you have Migraine with aura? There are many variations of Migraine aura. A few of the more typical aura symptoms are:

    • Visual symptoms:
      • Scotoma -areas of decreased or lost vision.
      • Phosphenes - brief flashes of light that streak across the visual field.
      • Blurry vision.
    • Other symptoms:
      • Aphasia - loss or impairment of the power to use or comprehend language.
      • Paresthesia - described as numbness or as a prickly, stinging or burning feeling, usually in the hands or face.

    Today, we're reviewing Alice in Wonderland Syndrome (AIWS). . .

     

    Alice in Wonderland Syndrome is a rare form of Migraine aura. The most distinctive symptom of "Alice in Wonderland" syndrome is this type of metamorphosia, a distortion of body image and perspective, which Migraineurs know is not real.
