For the Migraineurs in your life -- Great gifts under $20!
How is your holiday shopping coming? If you're like me, it seems to get more and more difficult to find the right gifts for everyone. And we all understand that finding appropriate gifts at reasonable prices is more difficult each year.
Let's see if we can make things a bit easier. I've been looking around the Internet and have some gift suggestions for the Migraineurs and headache sufferers in your life, each under $20.00...
Let's start with an "oldie but goodie," the Gal Pal Retro Ice Bag. The old fashioned English style ice bag has long been a method of our grandmothers for relief of headaches, migraines, swollen joins and limbs. Ice bags can reduce muscle spasms and inflammation. The people at Gal Pal, have brought back grandma's trusted remedy in beautiful colors. Available for $13.00 at Amazon.com.
Revolution tea sells many different teas. This is my favorite for settling my stomach when I have a Migraine. A refreshing pick-me-up, Southern Mint is a delightful version of the traditional English mint tea. This herbal drink, made from whole Egyptian mint leaves, has soothing properties and can help combat headaches and aid in digestion. Caffeine Free. Each bag is individually boxed and wrapped, 30 tea bags for $12.75 at RevolutionTea.com.

One last suggestion...
Another great gift is to donate to a charity in someone's name. There is a huge unmet need for Migraine and headache research, the basic kind of research that has to be done before new and better treatments can be developed. You may have read here that a group of doctors and advocates went to Washington in September for an event called Headache on the Hill.
We are now working toward a grassroots initiative to get NIH funding increased. If you'd like to make a donation toward this initiative, you can click the "Donate" button below. That will take you to a page to donate to the American Headache Society. On the page that allows you to designate a purpose for your donation, please specify "Headache on the Hill." You may also fill in someone's name and send them an ecard to let them know you donated for them. Every dollar counts and is greatly appreciated.
The generally long periods of time between my Migraines are the result of working with a Migraine specialist to refine my preventive regimen. You can see my current regimen HERE.
