    being depressed doesn't increase your risk of stroke, but life stress does?

    How did they define "Psychological Distress?" And how is that different from depression. It looks like this study dealt with people with episodic depression? Did they look at people with chronic, intractable depression?

     

    I've seen how stroke can cause depression, even before the seriousness of the stroke sinks in. They started my mother-in-law on Paxil the second day in the hospital. She didn't stay on it long. I wish she had. She was a difficult and very sad person, God rest her soul.
