Each
year, we conduct the Putting Our Heads Together Poetry Contest to bring together
people with AND without Migraine disease and headaches to share our thoughts and
expressions. This contest is held in April, National Poetry Month.
Selecting the winners is difficult at best because they're all "winners." Yes, that sounds trite, but it's true. Every poem is a bittersweet piece from the heart — expressing the pain, anguish, and loneliness that Migraine disease and headaches engender. Still, the hope shines through in many of them.
Without further ado, this year's winners are...
- First Place: Massive Migraine by mopar496
- Second Place: Car-jacked by Roey
- Third Place: Perpetually Now by MaxJerz
- Fourth Place: The Keeper By desrivgirl
Honorable Mention goes to:
- My Ghostly Shadow by SEG
- A Rare Day by cdelavarre
- Pain Inside My Head by thedoglady
- The Thorn by Brynnwriter
- The Stranger's Eyes by Roey
All of the poetry submitted for this year's contest will remain available on our site. So, check out all of the 2008 poetry submissions! You can also take a look at all of the 2007 poetry submissions. Enjoy!
To all who shared their entries with us, thank you, and congratulations to our winners!
