  1. Presenteeism: I can relate

WOW!  This should be a good note for people to make sure they have their FMLA paperwork in place!  Be sure to check out Megan's SharePosts as well on FMLA issues.

How many times I sat in front of the computer unable to do much of anything but stare or answer the phone.  I was present, but not there.  Unfortunately, when employers have ridiculous attendance policies or you are made to feel guilty for NOT going to work for having a "headache"  it seems there is seldom any other option but to simply be present.  Now, that things appear more manageable personally... I am usually more than present.  I also have made sure that my FMLA paperwork is in place so that if I need to take time off I am able to.

I probably lost my job in part due to migraines. Migraines should definetly be considered a DISABILITY! I have suffered for YEARS with migraines.  FMLA would not help. That is temporary. I have tried everything under the sun to prevent migraines and until employers can work with and understand that we cannot function, even with medication (at least I can't), I don't know what to do.
