Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 04:24 PMMy, my, my. Aren't you one of the people I've seen here wishing other people a "blessed day?" How does your attitude toward prisoners fit with your blessings and religion. God forgives you and me, but you won't forgive? You'd wish pain and suffering on another? I don't know about your God, but mine would certainly remind me of "Forgive us our trespasses as WE forgive those who trespass AGAINST us." and "Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself."
I do hope you'll rethink this attitude, Denise. It doesn't hurt those in prison for you to think like this, but it does hurt you, and you deserve better.
God bless!

Yes, I do tell people to have a blessed day. That doesn't really have much to do with my opinion on prisoners getting help with migraines. It doesn't mean I'm unforgiving either. I could quote and quote bible verses, but I won't do that.
I just want to say, this is an opinion of prisoners getting migraine care. Most people out here cannot get migraine care, or healthcare. Prisoners already get TV, libraries, food and a bed and a roof over their head. Unlike some of our people now including our soldiers fighting for our country. Just my opinion again. I don't wish pain and suffering on anyone, BUT....... Just my opinion. Oh, and have a blessed day!

Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 04:31 PMWow. That's harsh, Denise. Some people end up in prison for next to nothing. There are doctors in prison now as a result of the DEA's witch hunt for doctors prescribing pain medications. Not to mention that people deserve a second chance. And all of that is without bringing God into it.
Once God is brought into it, I find myself agreeing with the other comment. When God forgives us, he doesn't expect us to have such a merciless attitude toward others. He gives us endless second chances. Your condemnation belies that.
I too hope you'll rethink such a harsh, unforgiving attitude.

Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 05:07 PMI do have compassion for others, believe it or not. My opinion may be harsh, but is only for those who have hurt, murdered and hurt not only one, but many people and their families. Those are ones who don't deserve a second chance until the end of time, and only when they are faced with judgement and are truly remorseful. I do believe in forgiveness. I'm not saying I wouldn't forgive someone who hurt me or my family. I've had family members in prison. I've got a friend who is in prison now. She is maybe innocent. I wasn't there, but either way, everyone is responsible for their actions. If they end up in prison for next to nothing, then that don't say much for the justice system. Who is to say what is justice? I'm just giving an opinion.
Sorry.

I've read down through all of the comments now, and it seems they're getting out of hand.
Having read your posts before, I remember that you have had problems getting medical care, and I'm sorry about that, but I think it's affecting your outlook a bit much.
Your first comment was shockingly hateful. I had to look twice to be sure it was you who wrote it.
On down in your replies, you said, "Most people out here cannot get migraine care." I don't have the statistics, but I think that's a bit of an exaggeration.
I know I have to be very careful not to lash out at others when I'm in pain, and I wonder if that's part of what's going on here.
Whatever brought all of this on, I hope you'll stop and think it all over. You comments and replies today certainly have been far below the level of kindness and understanding that you usually write with.
Regards,
Jon

Tuesday, November 03, 2009 at 06:47 PMI don't consider myself a hateful person. I don't mean to come across that way. Again, I'm sorry, but this is just an opinion. Laws are made for a reason. A person in prison broke a law to get there. Yes, we could go on and on about this, but I'm done here, and I do stand by what I said. I have insurance also. Before I was married, I couldn't get any help because I've worked all my life, and had to stop working because of these migraines. Again, don't mean to be mean or hateful, it's about right and wrong. Some may deserve a second chance, or may not deserve to be there. I'm speaking of the ones who do and are in there.
Gosh, so much for giving my opinion.

Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 09:13 AMWell I guess they can throw me at the stake with you Denise because I agree 100% with you! For the ones that have committed misdemeanors and other crimes that did no bodily harm against another, not so much so but for the ones who rape, kill, and torture.... a big hell to the no on giving them insurance, or meds to take care of their pounding head...& folks this is a forum. She typed her opinion and not in a cruel way. Just like Nancy said, you may not AGREE with what someone says but this is an open forum and I would like to think no one get's crucified so to speak for their opinion, esp when they voice it in such a NICE manner! Geesh!
I don't lead and I certainly don't follow.... I create my "own" path and opinions.....
If everyone agreed on everything there would be no diversity in this world. How boring would that would be!
Have a great weekend! :-)

I personally don't like to wish this migraine pain on anyone. But........some will disagree I'm sure, but if they are truly guilty of the crime that put them there, than let them suffer. Our prisoners have it better than some people out hers. I don't feel sorry for them. That's my opinion.
