Migraine Term of the Day: Ptosis

Migraine Term of the Day: Paresthesia

I'm a 50 year old woman that has suffered from migraines since I was about 9 years old. Incidentally, I also went through puberty at that age, and started my menses cycle at 9 yrs old.

My migraine are ALWAYS on the left side of my face....covering the eyes, temple area and I get a slight aura...my scalp will tingle before the migraine really kicks in. (like a shudder when one is cold)

I take Imitrex when I first feel one coming on, and I am also on blood pressure meds and Lamictal and Lexapro (for bipolar II/depression)

The ptosis affects my left eyelid.

It droops a bit now all of the time, but when I'm in a full-fledge attack, that left eye will droop to the point of my vision being affected. I have had to be taken to the hospital before for the pain and vomiting, but also because I practically lose my vision, and my loved ones fear I am having a stroke!
