    Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

I'm so glad you've found our site. Our clincial information on Migraine disease and headaches is physician-reviewed. Let's see what I can give you to help you out, how does that sound?

From reading your Sharepost, you have been on many medications to treat Migraine in a short amount of time. It may take up to three months to see a reduction in frequency and severity in our Migraines as our bodies adjust to new medications. How long was Propranolol used? If it was only taken for a couple of weeks or so, it wasn't given a fair trial; for you or the drug. When we keep switching medications quickly (at our doctors recommendation) never allowing enough time for our body to adjust to the theraputic dose, we tend to go through drug after drug getting very, frustrated very quickly.

Another issue may be Medication Overuse Headache, MOH. If we take certain OTC and/or prescription medications more than two to three days a week we may be at risk for MOH. If we have MOH no preventive on earth, like Propranolol or Topamax will work. Continue reading this for more information: Medication Overuse Headache - When the Remedy Backfires.  And a more important article for you may be Transformed Migraine - Risk Increased by Some Medications. Not because of opioid use, but Transformed Migraine, we don't want that.

You may want to consider seeing a Migraine specialist. You deserve the best possible treatment you can have. I'm not saying the doctor you are seeing isn't a good doctor, clearly he is not an expert in Migraine disease and headaches. Some neurologists say they are "headache specialists" but that really isn't the case. They treat so many different conditions like MS, Parkinsons, and stroke they don't focus on one area. A Migraine specialist treats patients with Migraine disease and headache disorders - that's it. You probably see a GI doctor who treats your Crohn's, right? He/she is a specialist in one area, like a Migraine specialist. We have a great article you can read more about:  Migraine and Headache Specialists - What's So Special? If you'd like to look for a Migraine specialist, you can check our patient recommended specialist list HERE
