Help With Migrains

By Joanna Monday, May 19, 2008

Hello,

I suffer with one I go to my local Dr and get an injection of Nubian and phenergan, usually makes the migraine easy up enough I can live with it. I am never never headache free, (boy would that be nice headache free). I have a son that has Cerebral Palsy and I am the only one that takes care of him. I am a single woman, with no health insurance. I do not know about other states but the state of Mississippi the Neurologist will not touch you without insurance. The headaches are coming more often. And then when I have to go to the DR they act like I am there for a fix. GOD knows I wish they had a real fix for the migraines.

I have since stated getting a lot of dizziness and fainting spells. This is very dangerous with my son. SO if anyone out there has any suggestions please feel free share them with me. No one knows what a real headache is until they have a Migraine headache. God Bless and I look forward to hearing from all of you guys and gals

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

I totally understand about wanting to be pain free. You're are so right, it would be so nice! Sometimes it is easy to get Migraines and headaches mixed up. But they really are two different things, that's why it is important to get the right diagnosis.

Seeing a Migraine specialist would be the best thing, as they are experts in treating  Migraine disease and headache disorders. Our list of Migraine specialists can be found HERE. Some cities have hosiptals with teaching centers that have specialized units like headache centers. Have you looked at you state health plan for a reduced health insurance plan? Our family is currently using one of these.  Another idea is to look into  Partnership for Prescription Assistance., a prescription plan for people without insurance.
