Well, this was my first week on Lyrica. I am taking 25 mg. at night and am to start taking 50 mg. a week after two weeks. So far, I haven't noticed side effects, but it is a low dose. Then again, I also haven't had a noticeable effect on my daily headaches. I am also using Zanaflex in the meantime at 4 mg. in the morning, 4 mg. in the afternoon and 8 mg. at night. I have wanted sweets a lot more, but that might just be stress. I tend to crave sweet things when stressed anyway.
I had my first occipital nerve block on Valentine's Day, but I don't think it worked since I've still had a headache every day. Only difference is the length before I noticed a headache was longer. I'm to get another, but don't know if that's normal or not. How many do people need to get before they know it works?

hi i am 25 yrs old i have had over 4 greateroccipital nerve blocks...they provided me no relief for migraines.........what has worked for me ....lyrica 100 mg at bedtime with 12mg zanaflex 1st 8 days without a migraine in years !!!!!!!!!!!!! i dont mind paying out of pocket insurance does not cover this med lYrica but dang it works !!!!!
That's wonderful! I was on 8 mg. Zanaflex at night and now 5 mg. valium (because I was grinding my teeth at night and have braces on -- OW!). The neurologist has me on 150 mg. of Lyrica morn, afternoon and before bed. He added noritriptyline (sp) and wants me to move from 10 mg up to 30 at night. He said it is supposed to help people with TMJ disorder who wake up with headaches like I do. I'm sure hoping.
I've gained a lot of weight since taking on Lyrica. I am hoping I can lose it through diet and exercise since I did give in to the sweet cravings for a while!
