Disability retirement

Since December 2008, I have been going through the process of asking for disability retirement where I work because chronic headache and two or more migraines a week have been my daily norm. Management did not want my position made part-time back when I asked in the summer of 2008 because it would look like they could do the job without added people (and they want more people). I asked for telecommuting before and was...

Worried about next ortho visit

For background, I have migraine disease, TMJ disorder and fibromyalgia. I have braces right now in the hopes that it will help me in the future because I grind and clench my teeth at night. I saw a TMJ specialist prior to the orthodontist, and I wore many different types of splints. (I was really hoping the one with the NTI-TSS device would have worked, too.)

My bite has worsened in the past year (before braces) in that one side (left)...

The other side

5 a.m. reminder of genetics failed
A prayer on my tongue as I apply
Cold pressure on the head
Moist heat on the neck
Stomach a tempest
My mind races, the drumming starts
A steady pounding finally reaches a frenzied pitch
No amount of purging takes it away
This disease that feels worse than death

A pill under the tongue, one on top
Melts and spreads the medicine within
The torturous strains...

First week on Lyrica, first occipital nerve block

Well, this was my first week on Lyrica. I am taking 25 mg. at night and am to start taking 50 mg. a week after two weeks. So far, I haven't noticed side effects, but it is a low dose. Then again, I also haven't had a noticeable effect on my daily headaches. I am also using Zanaflex in the meantime at 4 mg. in the morning, 4 mg. in the afternoon and 8 mg. at night. I have wanted sweets a lot more, but that might just be stress. I tend to...
