I've been looking around the site today, and it really hit me how incredibly fortunate we are to have Teri here to teach, support, guide, and care for us. She's like the proverbial candle in the window that guides us home. It really hit me when I was reading her post New Migraine and Headache Info on MMC, 4/13/10. If you haven't read it yet, let me list some of what's in it:
- No Insurance Often Means Substandard Migraine Treatment
- Migraine Poetry Contest Winners Announced
- Migraine Research - Send an Email Today to Increase Funding!
- April Migraine Blog Carnival - Migraines in Literature (Hosted here by Teri)
- Let's Chat About Migraines, Nutrition, and Food Triggers on 4/21 (TWO 2-hour chats!)
- Migraine Terms of the Day
- Ask the Clinician
And this is just the stuff that Teri does. There's also stuff there from Nancy and Megan.
Anyway, I wanted to write to thank Teri and to ask all of you to join me in thanking her.
Teri, I don't know how you do so much for us. You're amazing, truly amazing. With all that's visible to us, I can imagine that you do so much more that we never see. My daughter has Migraines, which you've taught us should be spelled with a capital "M." I'm teaching her to spell Self with a capital "S" and to look to you as a role model of what can be achieved in life, despite this blasted disease. She and I both want her to grow up to be like you.
You are always in our thoughts and prayers. We are all absolutely incredibly fortunate to have you. There is no doubt in our minds that you do what you do because you care, not just for a pay check.
Namasté,
Abi
PS: Can someone tell me why it never works when I choose a font or font size here?

I can attest, as I work with Teri every single day, she is incredibly dedicated to both this site and helping the community. Sometimes we cause her quite a few headaches - and she has been known to cause some for us (just kidding!) - but really, these sorts of messages really hammer home how important her personality is. She is incredibly knowledgable in the subject-matter, and still finds a way to forge a unique connection with every single user on this site.
The amount of blood, sweat, tears, energy, brain-power and - very simply - heart that Teri puts in to make life better for migraineurs is something I wish everyone could strive for.
From HealthCentral, and for this community, I too want to say thank you.
