I don't post a lot here or on the forum, but I read at least a couple of days a week. Between working and raising kids on my own, that's all the time I can muster. Today, I realized that Teri has written about some really important issues lately, and I haven't done my part by commenting on them. Have you?
Prescription for America and Your Migraine Treatment
Only 14 comments in this discussion. This is a hot topic all over the country. How many times do we Migraineurs talk about insurance companies limiting our triptans, not being able to afford to go to a specialist, not being able to afford our drugs. All of those things could be addressed by healthcare reform in America. Why aren't we talking about this?
Acetaminophen for Your Migraines? The FDA May Ban Some Medications
Didn't people read this? The FDA may take Vicodin, Percocet, Lortab, Norco, Fioricet with Codeine, and all other drugs that have acetaminopehn and an opioid off the market. There are only 16 comments here. I'd have thought more of us would have been really ticked off by the thought of being treated like children. A similar discussion on the chronic pain site has 92 comments!
Migraine Top "Excuse" for Calling Off Work
There's a poll here asking if you've ever taken off for a Migraine when you didn't have one. Only 24 people have voted, and there are only 5 comments.
Even though I don't know many of you, I consider you my "Migraine family." I'm not being critical here, and I I were, I'd have to be critical of myself too. I'm wondering why we aren't discussing these issues.
Are we all just to exhausted from fighting our Migraines?
Are we busy with summer activities?
Whatever our reasons are for not participating in these important discussions --
I hereby challeng myself and each of you.
I challenge each of us to participate in the discussions above and watch what Teri and others are writing on this site for opportunities to take part in important discussions.
Silence changes nothing.
Namasté,
Abi
