I'm the day after a migraine yet I still feel exhausted.  Any suggestions on relieving this feeling.  I do experience this usually but not to this degree.

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

During postdrome, the fourth and final stage of a Migraine attack, people may be extremely tired or even "hung-over." These feelings may be due to the medications that were taken to treat the Migraine or it may be the Migraine itself.

I know just how you feel!

Some days after a bad migraine, every time I bend over or get up from a seated position I get a throb on one side of my temple. That's usually where the migraine occurred the day before.

If you are able to stay home and rest, do it. I use Advil and a small amount of caffeine. Rest, rest, rest. Avoid any food triggers. Wear your sunglasses if light is too bright. Don't try to do too much just because the migraine is over. Your body is healing itself, your brain, recharging so to speak. It is probably still experiencing some agitation from the migraine.

Bless your heart....

Hello!  The phenomenon you're experiencing is quite common after a migraine.  The ordeal of the migraine seems to wear one out and I find, personally, that 'the day after' I have to take things easy.  If I try to run around the way I usually do, then I run the risk of the migraine returning.  As stated by a previous reply - avoid any known triggers, wear sunglasses if still light sensitive - by that same token keep the volume down on TV or music - basically do the same things you would do during the event until the fatigue passes to prevent a 'relapse'.  Cope the best way you can and good luck with future events.

I, too, feel exhausted after a migraine, but it is difficult to tell whether it relates to the meds I have taken, my fibromyalgia (which can be worse afterwards) or the migraine itself.  I tend to pamper myself the day after or until the feeling wears off.  Some mild stretching exercises or yoga can help build up the energy, but you would have to check your own reactions to that.

i feel for you. try lots of fluids, especially hot tea. liquid ibuprofen tabs work great, too. other than that, just get lots of rest. i know that may seem quirky, but little else works.
