Migraines: Hemiplegic, Arterial anomalies, chronic fatigue Medications new/ old for treatment, discussions from fellow sufferers/educators, resourceand information
MultiVits for women, Glucosamine&Chondroitin, Vit.E, Calcium, Potassium, antihistamines, Methotrexate, Folic Acid. Migraine Rx: Dilaudid po Vistaril These last two are when I can keep them down, otherwise it's to the er for fluid and a healthy dose of derision.
I have had these headaches since age seven, (Iam now 54yrs.) my parents thought I had the flu alot. Parents treated me with their rural treatments, as it was good enough for them. As a child I would crawl into the closet with pillow, for what I now know is sensory deprivation. About 6 years ago, I was diagnosed with an arterial anomaly in the brain. It cannot be successfully repaired until technology catches up or I opt out to be a vegetable. I have been a guinea-pig for whatever Rx,nonRx,treatments(sphenopalatine blocks), that my GP and Specialty docs could come up with. I have volunteered for clinical trials and studies, without much luck. Sometimes with life-threatening reactions, extra-pyramidal effects, and labelled non co-operative, if I voiced reservations, ask for more info. or refused the treatment. I have also had the misfortune to be treated like a junkie i.e. Er Dr. came in flipped light on and took off my shoes, looked between them and fingers and went over the rest of my body, looking for tracks, all without an introduction, and a very unwanted lecture on the fact he knew I was a drug seeker! If you deny drug seeking, medical profession stigmatizes you as you protest to loudly! Presently, my husband takes care of me and has done a yeomans job! Learning PICC line care, infusion pump, meds, interfacing with Dr.s & nurses, and so very much more, in the past 18 years we've been together. I would have died literally on 4 occasions if it hadn't been for him!
