Congratulations on the success on your sleep apnea! My husband had a huge problem. When he finally had his sleep study, he was having 70 interruptions an hour -- more than once a minute. No REM sleep. The CPAP has given him his life back.
I don't have the severe mood changes, but I get clumsy and tongue-tied the day before I get a nasty.
Hearing your success, I'll ask my neurologist or primary care doc about treating a sleep apnea problem then next time I see them.

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!
The good news is your Migraine frequency has been reduced. Sleep apnea can be a trigger for a Migraineur.
Anatomy of a Migraine talks about the four phases of a Migraine attack. You may very well be experiencing the prodrome phase. The symptoms can play a role in early treatment to abort an attack because they can be thought to be sort of a warning light - time to take a triptan or other abortive.
Have you tried trigger identification and management? Keeping a Migraine diary is a great way to tell what works and doesn't for your attacks, what triggers them (if any) and what can make an attack worse. Migraine trigger information can be found HERE.

What you have described sounds like the prodrome phase of a migraine. Not everyone gets a prodrome, or is able to recognize their prodrome. And it's different from person to person among those people who do recognize it.
I get a little bit of prodrome--seeing purple spots up to 24 hours in advance, and sometimes feeling a little "down" or more emotionally reactive than usual. But sometimes I don't recognize my prodrome at all.
Look at this Anatomy of a Migraine article for more information about prodrome.
I hope you will join us on the discussion forum. To get there, click on Migraine Forums under the orange Manage bar. Registration for the forum is separate from registration for this page, but of course, you can use the same information to register. A lot of people would be happy to share their prodrome experiences with you.
Take care.
