A use for Tedrol
chuck
Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 06:03 AMOver 20 years ago I was triggered into a terrible migraine, by an odor. For a 3 day, flat on my back, no light, or noise, agony. The headache was almost asking me to run into a wall to knock myself out. I was prescribed Tedrol. In an hour I was nearly back to normal. I understand that it's not made anymore. Since other headaches have been much milder and infrequent, I've not taken it again. I don't know what I'll take for one these days. My only migraine symptom has been infrequent aura without pain.

Chronic daily headaches

Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 10:50 AMYou are not alone. Ask your Dr. about Hemicrania Continua. I have had daily headaches for eight years. I go to the Jefferson Headache Center in Philadelphia which is one of the best in the world. Ask The dr. about Indocine. If your head ache goes away you will know that it is NOT Hemicrania Continua or paraxal.
Unfortunately you are going to have to try many drugs until they find out what kind of headache you have. Keep a daily journal of EVERY single symptom you have for a month.
24 hrs a day. from nausea, sleepiness, aggitation, where the pain is, how long it last, what type of pain it is, etc. There are a zillion types of headaches. The more specific you are the quicker they will be able to diagnose your headache. It took 8 years to get the right combinations of drugs for me just so that I can function every day.
1)Take your meds every day at the same time. Don't EVER skip a dose.
2) Get at least 9 hours of uninterrupted sleep every night.
3) Watch what you put in your mouth from now on. Every thing. Especially artifical sweetners and junk food.
4) Read all the information you can about headaches. The type of headache you have is not just a tylenol headache it is a disease and has to be taken seriously because as you know...it gets ugly.
I hope i've help in some way. You're going to be fine. Just keep doing YOUR own research and BE persistent.
You're a beautiful girl!

Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 03:24 PMI have suffered off and on with migraines since a wreck in 03, but 2008 was a really bad year for me and those aggravating headaches. I had them for 2 months straight before i went to see the best neurologist in alabama. He started me on vapramil blood pressure meds and conducted a nerve block....omg, it feels so good not to have them headaches every day. I do still have the migraines, but not near as much. I did cut alot of my caffeine out and that cut down my headaches and i also cut out chocolate and loud perfumes. Now when i get a really bad headache i do have to take lortab to get rid of it, because there so sever, but that's just what us migraine sufferers are gonna have to deal with. The doc also told me that mine where brought on by stress hope your headaches get better. god bless!

Thursday, February 19, 2009 at 10:01 PMHi, I too have chronic daily headaches which started about 3 years ago. Never had a problem with headaches and I am going to be 52 tomorrow and also a RN for 30 years. Three years ago I was being treated for depression, my Dr. trying many different meds but none was working well. One day I just started having daily headaches. Well to make a long story short I have been on many different meds for depression and/or headaches over the last 3 years. I have been to 3 different neurologists, 2 of whom are from major headache centers in NY. Yes it is trial and error and my current neurologist who comes from the headache center at Jefferson Hospital in Phil. started me on Atacand (blood pressure med) and I am so much better. I am not headache free but in general 80-90% better. I also take Elavil and on supplements of CoQ10, Migrelief (Vit B, Magnesium and feverfew) and Petadolex (butterbur). I would definitely go to a major headache center near your home. Good Luck, it is so wonderful when there is no pain, even when there is just a small amount of pain is such a relief.
