Teri and I started our day at 5:55am. That's right, at almost 6 am we were at a session called "Chronic Migraine: Mechanisms, Epidemioligy, and Treatments." Try saying that three times fast at six in the morning! I must admit some of it went over my head, but I did get quite a bit out of it before I started getting a headache. What a drag that was. I wasn't able to finish the presentation, so I headed up to our room for some much needed rest and meds.
A real highlight today was meeting Dr. Seymour Diamond and his daughter Dr. Merle Diamond. These are the famous doctors of the Diamond Headache Clinic and I have to tell you I was a little star struck. I've also met Dr. Fred Sheftell, Dr. Richard Lipton, Dr. Stephen Silberstein, Dr. William B. Young (Teri's first Migraine specialist, who really does look like Harry Potter!) Dr. Lawrence Robbins, and Dr. Joel Saper just to name a few. It is amazing to read about these doctors and their great work, then finally be able to meet them face to face.
Before we called it a day, Teri and I took a walk around the corner from our hotel where they were shooting a new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight." I couldn't see much and wasn't able to get a photo for you all, but I did get a glimpse, be it a very small one, at two of the stars, Christian Bale and Maggie Gyllenhaal. That was pretty interesting. The police were keeping people away and we all needed to be very quiet, but it was interesting none the less.
Tomorrow is our last day so we will make the best of it I am sure. I'll keep you posted.
