Axert Works for Me!

Nancy Harris Bonk Health Guide
  • Recently I discovered something that I wanted to share with you all. During an outing, my head started it's familiar, unwelcome pain. I wasn't sure if it was a Migraine attack, PTC headache, or Lupus headache. So a friend of mine, who knew I have prescriptions for triptans but had forgotten to take any with me, offered me one of her Axert. I have never tried Axert before, so I gratefully took it. And BAM it worked! In the past I have taken Amerge and Frova for mentstrual Migraine, (yes that was part of the problem) with limited success. But not Axert. I followed it up with another dose, and my head actually felt great--really, really great.

At my next appointment with my doctor, shortly after this wonderful event, I explained what happend. The look on her face was priceless. I asked for some samples of Axert (and Frova so I could do my own "clincial trial"), and she loaded me up.

The official results are in: Axert is the triptan for me. It usually takes one dose, each of two days during my cycle. Yipee! Frova did absolutely nothing, but made me wait 24 hours to take an Axert!

I guess the bottom line here is, if "you have tried all the triptans" (but not really), don't give up! It may be the very last one that will make all the difference in your Migraine control.
