Recently I discovered something that I wanted to share with you all. During an outing, my head started it's familiar, unwelcome pain. I wasn't sure if it was a Migraine attack, PTC headache, or Lupus heada...

Yay Nancy, I'm glad that Axert has worked for you!!! I tried it for the first time yesterday and it worked for me as well. I was really glad because, like you, I've tried several triptans in the past (Amerge, Zomig, Maxalt) and all they've done is make me more nauseous. But Axert did help - not quickly, it was rather slow, but I'll take the relief :)

    Hi Nancy

I am new but I am glad axert helps you it was the first triptan I ever tried my body has a great way of getting used to drugs so they do not help anymore but it worked for me for almost 2 years back in my 30's.

That's great you are new, we are happy you found us. Have you found the Migraine forum yet?

It is always good news when we find a med that works for us.

Have you found another triptan that helps?

I've been taking the Axert for about 2 years now.  My doctor has me take it in combination with 800 mg of Advil.  It really works well in this combination.  I'm glad that the Axert works for you, if it begins to not work as well you may ask your doctor about taking it with the Advil.

Thanks for the hint, Migraine30. Did you know they are close to approving a med the contains (sumatriptan- the first triptan - Imitrex) and naproxen, called Trexima? For more info you can read this SharePost by Teri Robert: Sumatriptan and Naproxen more effective against Migraine attacks

Hi, Nancy! Sounds like a great discovery -- very happy for you -- I haven't tried Axert either, but have had pretty good results with two or three of the other triptans...

Wishing you lots of pain-free hours,

    Betsy
