Hi Teri & Hi Nancy
I have posted a reply to Teri's comment a few days ago, so please check it.
Also to satisfy your curiosity I have posted another article on my blog on headaches.
In my 11 years of practicing as a Naturopathic Physician I helped temendous number of people with chronic headaches. The reasons why these people kept on suffering from headaches was because they were not evaluated properly. Naturopathic Doctors (ND) go beyond standard medical evaluation hence they are aware of more triggers. Please check the standards of ND's education, before you start throwing stones at it.
I sincerely want to help as many people as I want, and the more people know how to take care of themselves the better. I sense a lot of sarcasm in your comments. It should not be like that. If you truly want to help people then you should give them tools. Telling people that there is nothing they can do about their illnesses except suffering from them is not only wrong, but it is also misleading.
Stay in good health
Dr.D.
Dr. D.,
Please accept my apology for assumming you were a man. Clearly that is not the case.
After rereading my post several times now, no where do I say anything about your profession. I don't mention you being a Naturopathic Physician anywhere in the post, but instead say, "one good point in his (sorry) blog is the need to look more closely when it comes to Migraines and their triggers.. ."
We both want the same thing - to help Migraineurs and people with headache disorders have the correct information and feel better. The only issue I have with the article you wrote is that using the word "cure" is misleading. No where on this site do we tell people there is nothing can do about their Migraines. We offer education, tools, support and information about Migraine disease and headache disorders. Moreover, we hope people take a more proactive role in their health care and work closely with their doctors.
Now, this is so getting out of hand. As you can see, we get pretty "worked up" around here over the word "cure" if we think it is used in a misleading manner, period. But I have to tell you, our members aren't saying anything that is not true (although a bit sacrastic) so what is all the fuss about? You are right, trigger identification and managment is a vital part of any Migraine management plan. We have been saying that for years.
