By Nancy Harris Bonk, Health Guide Friday, December 03, 2010
Being in the throes of the holiday season can occasionally ramp up quite a few things such as stress, feeling overwhelmed, and of course our Migraines. Many of us follow traditions year after year, knowing exactly how our holiday season will play out. Managing and avoiding, when possible, any Migrain...

I thought you did a great job with this Nancy.  I really enjoyed reading your story.

Of course, since I'm going through the elimination diet right now, all I could think about is what if Santa triggers off of Chocolate chip cookies or Whole milk?

Thanks for the fun article!

Nancy you are a genius! Who is a fantastic role model when it comes to migraine disease for kids, none other than Santa Claus himself!

I feel like this would make a fantastic kids book! I hope you don't mind me stealing the idea!

It appears to me that Santa never lets migraine get the better of him, and that is awesome!

Thanks for an enlightening post!

Stay Well,

Couldn't have done it without you!!

Dear Santa (Perhaps this is Santa's Stand By...Nancy)

I hope that you are prepared for your "big" night by doing everything possible to make children happy, but also for yourself.  I know that before you leave the North Pole, you always check the very large list of toys that children hope to receive from you, but also you should make sure that you have everything you need just in case a Migraine would happen to try and ruin your night.  It is always to your benefit to make sure you have anything that helps your type of Migraine.  My first item I would go for is an ice pack, but I am quite sure that you could receive that from any ice box you are going to add food to.  Make sure that you get lots of sleep the night before the "big night" and I know that Mrs. Santa will make sure that you are well fed before you go.  You should always have some medicine / food / drink on board of the sled so that you would not have to try and make a stop back at your home for something.  Listen, you are going to be pressed for time as it is, so "Pack To Prepare" and hopefully you will never have to use a thing.  All the best to you Nancy..... Ah....Sorry, I meant to say Santa  Wink.  My wish for Santa, Nancy and all Migraine friends around the world, is to have peace, give and receive love for your family and this is the biggest wish......NO MIGRAINES IN 2011  !!!

Hysterical!  I literally LOLed.   This was great.  I'm not one much for the holidays Frankly I'm a bit of a Grinch, but this was fantastic.

Hey, you think the Grinch is a migraineur?  His biggest complaint with the Whos down in Whoville was the 'noise, noise, noise, noise"...  And he did make a point to take down all the blinking lights....  And living with Migraine Disease is enough to make you that cranky! Ha ha ha.
