Enjoying My Holidays with Migraine Triggers

By Nancy Harris Bonk, Health Guide Friday, December 10, 2010
For the holidays this year, I'm taking a different approach on my Migraine trigger management. Under normal circumstances -- let's say, everyday life -- I am pretty vigilant about avoiding the things I know will trigger a Migraine. This season, I will embrace my triggers, so to speak. I am ...

I can relate so much to this post!  I am trying to listen to my body more also.  Just the other day I made a choice and my husband said, "you're listening to your body!"....We have to, don't we?  I really think this is an important part of our migraine management. Thanks, Nancy!

Nancy,

These are all great things to keep in mind.  Like you, I've tried to kind of let up on myself a bit.  Trigger management is important, but it shouldn't take over our lives, especially at such an important time of the year.  What a great reminder - thank you!

Yes, I have learned to look at my mirgraines as a blessing, I eat health, lost 45 lbs and 7% body fat, exercise regularly, work at reducing stress.  If it were not for my migraines I would probably be dead from obesity related health issues, diabetic, hearth disease, joint issues, etc.  Migraines are never fun but if not for them I would not have learned so much about me and who I am or become more aware of my environment.

Wow! Congrats on a job well done! Migraines can certainly be a life lesson!

Happy Holidays
