Our readers ask some great questions about Migraine disease and other headache disorders here on MyMigraineConnection. Teri and I both answer questions in our community question and answer section. Dr. Krusz and Teri answer other questions in our Ask the Clinician column.
Some of the questions apply to many of our readers, and are great topics for discussion. So, every week, I'll be bringing you our Question of the Week. I hope you'll take a few minutes to look at these questions and the answers, then join us in discussion. One of the best things about online communities is the opportunity to share information and experiences.
This week's Question of the Week:
12 yo daughter has migraines :(
I have had migraines since I was very young (@ 5yo) as has many members of my family. My daughter began her classic migraine symptoms in pre-school (visual disturbance, vomiting, excruciating headache with light sensitivity) but they only occurred 1-2 times per year. Now she is a pre-teen (raging hormones) and is getting severe headaches/migraines approx 1-2x per month. She had always been helped with motrin now that is no longer working. Any suggestions for someone so young???? I hate to see her start prophylactic meds but she needs something because she is starting to miss school. HELP, please!
