You've probably already tried this, but I just had great success with an elimination diet. I have been told for years that my migraines are hormonal, and would go away after menopause. So, I didn't think to seriously look for a food link, I just tried to avoid the most common triggers that other people talked about. I recently did an elimination diet for some other inflammation, and I stopped having migraines. I couldn't believe it! I just had my first one in 2 months the other day when I added back eggs. I didn't even know that was a common migraine trigger. So far, that's the only thing that I've added back that has caused a migraine. But, I still have very many things to add back (started corn today, so far, so good). Hope this helps others who hadn't thought to completely check out the food trigger path.
I was recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia by a doctor. But, I was also diagnosed about 6 years ago, by another doctor, but he said he would rather not put it on my records because of insurance not wanting to pay for things. Generally speaking because if you say your at the doctor for one thing, it could be "Fibromyalgia", which is when everything hurts.
I've actually been lying down, with a cold pack on my knees, neck, and shoulders, and heating pad on my stomach and cold pack on my head. I just laid there and thought, "Oh, my Lord, here I am with everything hurting." However, I do have some days that are not so bad. The trouble is,......I try to do everything I can get done on the days I feel good, and I get so worn out! I'm 44 almost 45, and I have had migraines since my 20's. I do think foods and sodas trigger them. So, eating healthy is very important.
Good luck to all of us and thanks to Nancy and Teri for their support!
