The first week and a half of school went by without a hitch for our son, who started 7th grade. I was a little concerned that he would get a Migraine because he is in a new school that's still under construction! His schedule is kind of bizarre, and he doesn't do well with transitions.
So, Monday comes along, and the poor thing gets a Migraine. As he got off the bus, I could tell he was hurting. He went off to bed with Advil and slept for an hour or so. When he woke up, he was pretty groggy and still in a bit of pain. He missed Tae Kwon Do class that evening, which he loves. (Did I mention he has a Black Belt?) We laid low for the rest of the evening, and off to bed he went.
Tuesday came and went without a problem. Then during Tae Kwon Do class Wednesday evening, he had another Migraine. He came home close to getting sick was almost in tears. This time, in addition to Advil, I put an icepack on his neck. This seemed to help a bit. I will have to remember this for the next one. He went to bed and woke up fine in the morning.
If this is an indication of things to come, I think we may have a problem. Two Migraine attacks in one week (and the week isn't even over!) is not a good sign. It may be time to rethink his treatment plan. I really hate to see him suffer.
