    Nancy,

How true and how scary your words are. I really feel for the lady in the article. At the same time I know that I will repeat the same behaviors that she has done. Why....

Been there done that. You are not a priority which I do understand but I am still a patient needing and asking for their help. Please don't stick a sucker in my hand and come back three hours later and find me completely out of it or I am out of it because I have had a stroke or gone into a migraine type seizure. We all know how it goes in the emergency room.

Your insurance plan also plays a big role in it.  They, hospital personal, take a look at it many times before coming in your room to make sure what they will or won't do to you. I realize that can cause alot of confusion  for the doc's too.

So, many of us just wing it at home just as we always have for the yay so many years that we have been doing it and pray that this is not the big one.

We and I speak with me included are not spreaking with deaf ears on your post Nancy. What you wrote is very important!!! AND, yes, I will and have on occasion, try to follow your sound advice.

Such a sad story! But again it reminds us all - don't just "deal" with it...seek help!

Thanks for sharing this with us!

I haven't ventured near a hospital in about 6 years because of the attitude taken with migraineurs by hospital staffers. I have a good doc who has helped immensely and I can stand to stay at home. Last time I went they wouldn't give me any narcotic even though I hadn't been in for 4 years...they gave me a migraine cocktail which one of the ingredients sent me up the wall. Never again.

    Hi Barb,

Some people do have good experiences at the ER. We always seem to hear more of the bad than the good.

We do have a form that may make your visit to the ER easier. If you'd like to take it with you to your doctor the next time and have him fill it out.
