Hi Nancy:

New insights into migraine pathophysiology and treatment are ALWAYS welcome--thanks so much for taking the time to give us a peek at some of the new reports.  Enjoy the Symposium, and I hope you are feeling well.

The conference sounds great. Can't wait to hear more. Also, I believe Dr. Peter Goadsby is from UCSF. Thanks for attending and passing the information on.

You are so right! I was writing that so late during the conference. Dr. Goadsby won't be too happy with me now, will he? Thank you for pointing that out --I will take care of that right away!!!!

Nancy, you mentioned low pressure headache. What does that mean????Laughing

Hi there,

Low pressure headache, or CSF leak, is a type of headache that may occur (but not always) after a lumbar puncture. It may also happen spontaneously, or after a trauma. The person's head pain worsens when standing or sitting and immediately feels better when laying down. Bed rest, fluids and even caffiene have been known to help heal this type of headache. Sometimes a blood patch may be needed to repair the leak.

Does that help?

That refers to headache caused by low cerebrospinal fluid pressure.
