By MAGNUM, the National Migraine Assoc. Tuesday, March 31, 2009

WASHINGTON, DC, March 4th, 2009 -(Updated March 15th, 2009)--The following information was issued from Senator John McCain of Arizona's Senate office.  As you can see he is very busy with his run the the Presidency out of the way, he is now just focused on the needs of the people.  Having said that MAGNUM can tell you most Migraineurs, with only one major Migraine prescription abortive and no new generic preventives, cost of disease management is very expensive.  Even for those with good insurance access to the best medications can be problematic.  So MAGNUM welcomes the efforts of these four Senators and encourages you to contact your two senators and ask then to join in and support these four healthcare leaders in the Senate.

These healthcare leaders are U.S. Senators Byron Dorgan (D-ND), Olympia Snowe (R-ME),John McCain (R-AZ), and Debbie Stabenow (D-MI).  MAGNUM is happy to report they introduced critical drug importation legislation today that will reduce the cost of prescription drugs in the United States. I am thrilled to hear that legislation is in action to help those who need the medications that are so very expensive. I have a 500 deductible on prescriptions per person and it is very costly for migrane abortives. I hate the thought of anybody suffering because of the financial inability to pay. Thank you to these senators who are doing good for the people.
