About MAGNUM
M.A.G.N.U.M.: Migraine Awareness Group: A National Understanding for Migraineurs, was created to bring public awareness utilizing the electronic, print and artistic mediums, to the fact that Migraine is a true biologic neurological disease, to assist Migraine sufferers, their families, and coworkers, and to help improve the quality of life of Migraine sufferers worldwide. The objectives of MAGNUM, also known as The National Migraine Association, include educating Migraineurs about trigger mechanisms and the latest medical treatments, challenging misinformation that Migraines are a psychological, stress based condition, directing Migraineurs to quality medical facilities, and addressing the public health impact of the disease. MAGNUM was formed to fight tremendous public ignorance and prejudice about Migraines due to years of misinformation about the disease.
Recently MAGNUM learned that our main website www.migraines.org had won three new awards. MAGNUM won the first "2007 Outstanding Website" award issued by the Disability Network, Inc. In addition About.com Health websites issued MAGNUM websites the "Best of the Net 2007" award.
