I have lived in MI for 10yrs and Orlando, FL for 16yrs. Had migraines in both places, they seem to be influenced by weather a great amount of the time.

    You're very welcome, Kimberly!

Weather changes are my worst trigger, but I just can't bring myself to leave West Virginia. I was born here and love it. I have found, however, that my preventive regimen is sparing me even most of the weather-triggered Migraines.

    Best,

    Teri

    Teri,

I live in Massachusetts.  I too suffer from migraines triggered by weather changes but haven't found any med that helps so the only thing I've been taking is pain medication.  I would be most grateful if you can tell me what your preventive regimen includes?

I have no idea, but I live in Buffalo, NY and I have chronice migraines...have them every day. When I go to visit my son who lives on the edge of the Nevada desert, I don't have headaches during the whole time I'm there.

I live in the Pacific Northwest and find that my migraines are worse when it rains. I have read that high pressure systems can affect migraines. I feel the low pressure of the clouds makes them worse. I can feel the pressure on my face and head and that generally triggers a migraine.

I have also found that when I visit places that are dry I don't experience as many migraines.

I live in Michigan and the weather related migraines are horrible here.  My Son and I both have them and he moved to Vail, Colorado and the higher alitude has really helped him.  Maybe that is the answer, higher alitude living,

This animation shows one of the key causes of pain during a migraine--changes to the blood flow within the brain.
