Hi. I'd like to introduce myself.

By toejam Friday, January 11, 2008

Hi, I'm Diane.

My 19 YO daughter had her first migraine in June of 2007.  She had another one in October and then two in November.  She hasn't been officially diagnosed.  We don't think they're related to her cycle or to food.  I've asked her to take note of what she ate beforehand, etc.

I'm hoping to share ideas and info.

Does anyone know of a neurologist who specializes in migraines in the Richmond, VA, area?

I don't know much about the geography of Virginia, but here is a list of specialists (All listings on this directory are based on recommendations from patients or other specialists who have been recommended by patients.)

http://www.healthcentral.com/migraine/headache-specialists.html

I'm in the midwest but there may be others who can give personal recommendations.

While you're here, check out the Manage (in orange) menu which includes a list of possible triggers for you to investigate.

And Find (green menu) has lots of basic information about migraine types, etc.

Welcome and good luck.

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

Keeping a Migraine diary would be the best way to really see what, if anything is triggering your daughters Migraine attacks. You may be surprised as she fills it out. When my son started having more frequent Migraines, we started the diary. Turns out chocolate, dehydration and changes in his sleeping patterns are triggers for him. You can download a diary HERE

Another tool that is helpful when trying to figure out Migraine triggers is our Managing Migraine trigger workbook. Click HERE for that information. The workbook is at the bottom of the page.

While we don't have any Migraine specialists in Richmond, we do have three others in VA. you could look into. Our patient recommend Migraine Specialist list can be found HERE.
