I NEED Help! Is someone out there that has an idea for me?

By dado9478 Wednesday, February 06, 2008

Hello,

I have been suffering this for 10 years now...  I always wonder to if i will lose my job one of these days, I had such a bad one today, and have to work tonight. I am just sad, and flustrated I have to live this way! I feel like a bad mom! Ever part of my life is suffering. I have had so many different diagnosis, and nothing helps. My family keeps telling me to go in to a different doctor, ... I think why... I have been for years! I have a lot of medical bills and still no solution. I would be willing to try anything or if any has any information that could help, refferals ect.

I NEED somthing to change!

Thanks for your time. GailFurious Cry ? Wink PLEASE HELP

I live near PHX, just moved from Wi.

I have had left sided headaches. my jaw feels so achey and that is going to fall off. my eye has a sharp pain behind it, sometimes it has so much pressure it feels like it will pop out. I get a "stabbing sharp pain" that radiates through the left side of my head down my neck. Sometimes it is so powerful it makes my whole body jar  or jump from the pain like a body reaction to when you get hurt.... it tries to move away from the pain. My whole body jumps. My left side of my head feels like it is on fire. I feel like every vessel on that side is spasmicing. Some bad ones my arms feel cold. I hear my pulse "swich" in my left ear, sometimes my eye waters on that side too. It feels like someone is digging out my skull with a spoon. I feel like I am going insain! The weird thing is that when I get these headaches, I get them suddenly, Annually or bi-Annually, they start and I get them for 2.5 to 3 months straight. Then they get lighter and lighter and then are gone. ??? It happens at all different time of the year... All different times in my cycle. I do not eat anything differently. I am feeling pretty helpless and vulnerable right now. My life is just out of my hands... I dont know what to do. I moved to Az from Wi, thought the seasons and changes might have something to do with it... but still I got them. I am near PHX now and would like to try a specialist.....

I am going in to the Dentiest on the 15, I am telling him to mack me a brace for TMJ, just to rule it out. It is expensive.... like 600, but I need something... If anyone is out there that knows what I am going through. PLEASE HELP! I have been diagnosed with clusster, migranes, cph, My CT scan is clear, my MRI scan is clear..... right now I am taking Indomethacin, which is the only med that seems to help alittle, I think I take more than what my last MD wants.... But if I do not.... I want to pull out my hair.... I have tried so many meds.... My headaches are getting stronger and straonger.... I am afraid what is happening to me.

Please Help..... Thanks in advance for reading..... Open to any idea's!

Gail

Hello, and welcome to MyMigraineConnection.com!

I saw your reply in another SharePost and gave you a bit of information I hope you find helpful.  Seeing a Migraine specialist is your best bet for finding the right diagnosis and treatment plan. We do have a few patient recommended specialists on our list in AZ.

There are many different types of Migraines and headache disorders. Ice Pick Headaches - The Basics may be something you would be interested in reading.

Thank you for creating a SharePost. SharePosts are a form of blogging, and there are many things you can do with them. You can share an experience, suggest something that's helped you, use SharePosts as a Migraine and headache journal, and many other things.

We also have a discussion forum that you may want to check out. Especially if you have questions or are looking for information, you may find the interaction on the forum to be quite helpful. Gail,

I too saw your post in another share post.  I can't encourage you enough to see a migraine specialist.  All doctors and all neurlogist are not created equal.  In going over to the forums you will see that many poeple must travel a significant distance to see their doctors.  Nancy provided you in the other share post the link to a list of migraine specialist.  I'm not as tech savy as she is, but here is the link again:  http://www.healthcentral.com/migraine/headache-specialists.html

The inforamtion on this site can help you understand migraine disease and what your options are.  How you can work with your doctor to get the best result.  It's a team effort.  Do you keep a migraine diary?  It's very revieling as to patterns of migraines that you may not realize, espeically if kept in conjunction with a food diary.  Sometimes when things get written down together the pieces of the puzzle start to fit together.

I hope we will see you over in the forums Gail.

Cindy

I know you've been dealing with this for a long time.  I got my first migraine when I was 11, I'm now 31.  I know how you feel.

Some of the very basic things I do are to control my diet (i.e. no msg, cheese, caffiene or artificial sweetners), take a daily multivitamin and a daily Magnesium supplement and excercise daily.  Biofeedback or yoga might also be something you could try...even if nothing else these two things can help reduce your stress and anxiety over your migraines.  I am not sure who your insurance carrier is but I just switched to Kaiser because they have a very progressive headache clinic.  Their headache clinics are located at most of their facilities so that might be something for you to consider as well.

I also sensed a lot of fear and anxiety in your share post.  Have you spoken with your doctor about some antianxiety or antidepressant medication?  A lot of times this can help.  Also, have you seen a neurologist or a headache specialist?  There is a very well known specialist in Phoenix named Carol Foster, she runs the Valley headache Clinic - here's the contact information:

Valley Neurological Headache and Research Center
5333 North 7th Street
Suite B210
Phoenix, Arizona 85014

I hope this helps - good luck!

Tami
