    Hi Shali,

I am from Canada, and started having migraines probably since birth *in the form of abdominal ones* and progressing to head pain by the time i was about 7 I guess... maybe younger. Last year, I developed auras, and paralysis in my right side during some migraines. My pain was daily. I was in despair.

I lived in a small fairly small town in Ontario with 2 neurologists. I hated both of them. the second one i went to was mad that I had  gone to see a first one, so I just left, cause that was obviously a waste of our time.

The first one, I went to twice... the second time, he accused me of faking, cause my migraines were too severe so obviously I had to be faking. So I stood up, fired him on the spot and walked out.

The very same week, I began contemplating  making an appointment with Teri Robert's neurologist, Dr William Young. So I talked it over with hubby, he agreed.

I called their office, yes, they took foreign patients, but I'd have to pay out of pocket. I had expected that. And miracle of miracles I got an appointment in 2 months because of a cancellation.

When I saw him, my life began to change. He took me off my meds and put me on new ones. both for prevention and abortives, and gave me a proper diagnosis *several as it turns out lol*

3 weeks into my new preventative*topamax* I experienced a new "world record" for me... 4.5 days migraine free.

I just came back from my 2nd appointment with him a few weeks ago, and he increased my dosage, and am starting to see an improvement after a bad 2 weeks... Im on day 3 now pain free....

So I agree... there is hope!!!!!!

heres to pain free days and to great neurologists :-)

    Grin

    much love
